Thurrock's Tilbury Fort is a short stroll from the Cruise Terminal, providing a fine example of 17th century military engineering and the local Thurrock Museum also houses a fascinating collection of history, heritage and archaeology of the area.

The traditional English seaside town of Southend-on-Sea with the world's longest pier, and the Old Town of Leigh-on-Sea, with its cobbled streets, traditional English pubs and active fleet of cockle boats, are a short journey by rail or taxi.

Nearby Lakeside Shopping Centre and Bluewater in Kent offer unrivalled shopping experiences, each with over 300 shops, numerous cafes, bars and restaurants - perfect for tourist passengers and ships' crew alike.

The Tower of London was started back in the early 1080's by William the Conqueror and added to over the centuries by successive monarchs.

This once fortress, palace and prison is only 35 minutes by train from Tilbury Town Station on the C2C Line.
